Sierra Designs Quilts - Nitro 20 and 35
Part blanket, part sleeping bag, all cozy, the Nitro Quilt brings the best of both worlds together in this backcountry marriage of features. With an integrated hood plus hand/arm pocket, you can seal in warmth and still have room to move around.
We carry the Sierra Designs Nitro in two different temperature ratings - 20" and 35"F. Note that your body's actual response to lower temperatures may vary from the assigned rating level - that is, you could be cold or hot at 35' in a sleeping bag with a 35' rating, depending on many variables. If you have never slept in a camping quilt before, it takes a little getting used to but we've successfully converted a lot of campers over the years to what we consider a much better option over traditional sleeping bags. Lighter weight, smaller size, more freedom of movement, and better for side sleeping are just a few advantages. About the only downside would be in really cold temperatures - down below 20F for example - where you'd be better off in a more sealed up sleeping bag.
