Scouting can be a wonderful experience for youth from all walks of life. What is learned about the outdoors, from cooperative teamwork, and from participating in fun, productive activities at a young age as a Scout can be of benefit for a lifetime. Certainly camping and backpacking is a big part of most scout troops, and having the right camping and backpacking gear for the young scout can make a big difference in how they view their experience. The owner of Lowergear Outdoors is a Scout Counselor for Backpacking and Geocaching, and we hold weekend classes for Merit Badges in both topics at our store for scouts working on these badges. So we're very familiar with the camping gear needs of Scouts at all stages of their journey - whether it's their first trip or a long week at Philmont.

We can deliver camping and backpacking gear for Boy Scouts anywhere in the US in 5 business days or less.

Call our office at 480-348-8917 for more information. For another angle on improving the backpacking experience, review our article on "The Seven Sins of Scouts" - obviously written for Boy Scouts, but applicable to adults as well.

Many scout troops go out on kayaking adventures, usually through an arrangement with a local outfitter that rents kayaks. While we can't fulfill kayaking rental needs all across the country like we can for camping and backpacking gear, we can meet the needs of scouts wanting to go kayaking in and around Phoenix and the many lakes in the central Arizona area. See below for just a few of the areas we can help scouts out with kayak rentals:
