We offer merit badge classes to Boy Scouts

a few times a year

.  Sessions start promptly at 10:00 am and we're finished between 2:30 and 3pm.  See more information on the backpacking classes and the geocaching classes.  If you register Scouts for this clinic as their troop leader, please forward this information to their parents so their young outdoorsman-in-training will be prepared.  While we can only hold these classes at our local backpacking store in Tempe Arizona, we rent camping and backpacking gear to Boy Scout troops nationwide.
 
By the end of the clinic, each Scout will have met all of the requirements for the relevant Badge that do not involve backcountry wilderness experiences or long-term engagements.  Troop leaders and/or other counselors will acknowledge the remaining requirements as completed and then the merit badge can be awarded.
 
Each Scout will get the most of this fast-paced, info-packed experience if they do the following:
 
Review ahead of time the BSA Merit Badge pamphlet.  Otherwise, Saturday won't soak in.
Print out, review and bring a copy of the Backpacking Workbook 
Bring a "Merit Badge Application" form - the blue card used for all merit badges.  We won't have any of them available on Saturdays.
Bring 2 pens or pencils. 
Get some sleep and have a good breakfast beforehand.  We throw things at sleepyheads just for fun!
Bring some snacks to tame that roaring teenage stomach during breaks. 
Meet any paperwork and registration requirements set by the local Scout Council.
