If you don’t have all the gear you need for your camping trip to Wayfarers State Park, rent our camping gear online and have it delivered right to your home or convenient pickup point along the way. On your way back home, just load the rented backpacking and camping gear back into the same box we shipped to you, use the prepaid return label, and drop off the rental at one of our carrier’s shipping points.

Wayfarers State Park is a 67-acre public recreation area overlooking Flathead Lake, one-half mile south of Bigfork, Montana. The state park hosts the annual Northern Rockies Paddlefest at Wayfarers State Park, which in 2013 attracted over 200 participants. In 2016, nearly 160,000 individuals visited the park. The canopy is dominated by pine and fir trees, beneath which bloom seasonal wildflowers. In 1998, the Harry Horn Native Plant Garden was planted, featuring botanical education opportunities and many wildflowers including arrowleaf balsamroot, Indian paintbrush, silky lupine, and death camas.
If you are a first-time camper, an overnight trip into Wayfarers State Park is a great way to get started – it’s probably close by, and the staff is used to advising families out on their first trip. The park offers 30 campsites and a boat ramp. Visitors may access the boat ramp for aquatic activities, and fishermen may fish the waters of Flathead Lake. In 2016, development plans were announced by Montana State Parks for the improvement of a bicycle campground area to feature spots for 10 campsites and bicycle-related amenities.Located near the quaint resort town of Bigfork on the northeast shore of Flathead Lake, this park is 67 acres in size and is 2,923 feet in elevation. A mature mixed forest makes this site very pleasant for camping and picnicking. From spring to late fall the area abounds in wildflowers. Nature walks over the rocky shoreline to the cliffs are popular with photographers for an excellent view of Flathead Lake. There are 30 campsites in the park, including a hike-bike campsite with 9 tent pads, convenient for cyclists traveling the nearby Continental Divide route. The maximum length for RV/trailer units is 40 feet.
