If you don’t have all the gear you need for your camping trip to Spring Valley State Park, rent our camping gear online and have it delivered right to your home or convenient pickup point along the way. We’ll ship your rental gear direct to your home before your trip, or to a convenient location near the entrance to Spring Valley State Park. On your way back home, just load the rented backpacking and camping gear back into the same box we shipped to you, use the prepaid return label, and drop off the rental at one of our carrier’s shipping points.

Spring Valley State Park is a public recreation area adjoining the 65-acre Eagle Valley Reservoir in eastern Nevada near the border with the state of Utah. The state park is located at the east end of Nevada State Route 322, 20 miles east of the town of Pioche and near the village of Ursine.
The Eagle Valley Dam was built in 1965, creating the Eagle Valley Reservoir for agricultural usage. The area around the reservoir was designated a state park in 1969.
If you are a first-time camper, an overnight trip into Spring Valley State Park is a great way to get started – it’s probably close by, and the staff is used to advising families out on their first trip. The park offers camping, fishing, a boat launch, picnicking, hiking trails, historic ranch buildings, and a group-use area.
Camping: Horsethief Gulch Campground, the main campground, is located just west of Eagle Valley Reservoir. It has 37 campsites, each with table, grill and shade ramada, as well as three restrooms, two with showers. Water is also available. Ranch Campground is located two miles north of the main campground. This facility has seven campsites with tables and grills. Water and primitive restrooms are available. The camping limit is seven days in a 30-day period.
Group Area: Day and overnight groups are accommodated at the south end of the reservoir. Reservations should be made in advance.
Picnicking/Day Use: The day use picnic area is located next to the boat launch at the reservoir. It includes eight picnic sites, each with table and grill, a restroom and a fish cleaning station.
Boat Launch: A boat launch is located on the south shore of the reservoir adjacent to the day use picnic areas. A ramp, dock and temporary docking slips are available.
Eagle Valley Reservoir: Eagle Valley Reservoir is the primary attraction at Spring Valley State Park. The 65-acre reservoir is currently managed as a put-and-take sport fishery. Rainbow trout is the primary species.
