Here’s some information you may find useful before your trip (sourced from Wikipedia and other research):

Palouse Falls State Park is a 94-acre Washington state park in the Palouse region of Eastern Washington, USA. It is named for the 200-foot Palouse Falls on the Palouse River, which are part of the park. The state park was created in 1951 following the contribution of several parcels of land by multiple donors. Displays in the park explain the region's unique geology as well as its historical ties: the Palouse Indians and the Mullan Road both took advantage of the easy access to the plateau in the vicinity of the falls.

If you are a first-time camper, an overnight trip into Palouse Falls State Park is a great way to get started – it’s probably close by, and the staff is used to advising families out on their first trip. We make it easy to rent gear as well if you are aren’t sure what to take – check out our camping gear packages for easy shopping. Just add food and water!

The park has a short, ADA-accessible trail with falls overlook and facilities for picnicking and tent camping. Carved more than 13,000 years ago, Palouse Falls is among the last active waterfalls on the Ice Age floods path. This natural wonder was named Washington’s state waterfall in 2014, when the state Legislature passed a bill written by local schoolchildren, who advocated for the designation.
