Logan State Park is a public recreation area on the north shore of Middle Thompson Lake, off US Route 2 midway between Libby and Kalispell, Montana. The state park encompasses 17 acres within 3,000-acre Thompson Chain of Lakes State Park. It offers swimming, boating, fishing, and camping. Logan State Park is located in northwest Montana. With frontage on the north shore of Middle Thompson Lake, Logan is heavily forested with western larch, Douglas-fir, and ponderosa pine. A channel includes the Upper lake, and it connects Middle and Lower Thompson lakes. This state park is situated in the middle of the 3,000-acre Thompson Chain of Lakes State Park.
If you are a first-time camper, an overnight trip into Logan State Park is a great way to get started – it’s probably close by, and the staff is used to advising families out on their first trip. Season of operation depends upon weather conditions and access.
