Lake Walcott State Park is a public recreation area located near the Minidoka Dam six miles east of Acequia in Minidoka County, Idaho, United States. The state park encompasses 65 acres on the western shore on Lake Walcott, an 8,000-acre impoundment of the Snake River. The Minidoka National Wildlife Refuge adjoins the park and the lake. The park's recreational offerings include disc golf, camping, picnicking, boating, fishing, and water sports.
If you are a first-time camper, an overnight trip into Lake Walcott State Park is a great way to get started – it’s probably close by, and the staff is used to advising families out on their first trip. Located on the edge of Idaho's high desert, Lake Walcott offers a welcome refuge for water and wildlife lovers. Picnickers will love the grassy, shaded day-use area and disc golfers come from all over to play the world-class 21-hole course. The park is a great base from which to explore the Minidoka National Wildlife Refuge, which offers some of the best birding in southern Idaho.
