Bothe-Napa Valley State Park is a state park of California in the United States. Located in the Napa Valley, it contains the farthest inland coast redwoods in a California state park. The 1,991-acre (806 ha) park was established in 1960.
In 2011 during the California budget crisis, this park and the adjacent Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park were among those targeted to be closed due to lack of funding. The Napa County Parks and Open Space District petitioned the state to operate the park in order to avoid closure.
If you are a first-time camper, an overnight trip into Bothe Napa Valley State Park is a great way to get started – it’s probably close by, and the staff is used to advising families out on their first trip. Located in the heart of the beautiful Napa Valley wine country, the Park offers camping, picnicking, swimming, and hiking trails that go through stands of coastal redwoods as well as forests of Douglas-fir, tanoak, and madrone.Daytime visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll in Ritchey Canyon on the Redwood Trail to view the delicate ferns and listen to the water splashing down the rocky creekbed. Bring your wine and cheese and picnic under the towering Douglas Firs.
On hot summer days, grab a swimsuit and towel and come enjoy a dip in the park's swimming pool. There is an additional fee for the use of the swimming pool, to be paid at the park entrance.
