Beavertail Hill State Park is a public recreation area located on the Clark Fork River near Interstate 90, 26 miles east of Missoula, Montana. The park covers 65 acres, has an elevation of 3,615 feet and offers river frontage, tipi rentals, a short interpretive trail, an amphitheater, campsites, and picnic areas. The amphitheater hosts interpretive programs on Friday evenings in summer. Fishing, rafting, and swimming in the Clark Fork River are possible. About 26 camping sites are available for tents or RVs up to 26 feet long.

If you are a first-time camper, an overnight trip into Beavertail Hill State Park is a great way to get started – it’s probably close by, and the staff is used to advising families out on their first trip. Visit and enjoy Beavertail Hill! One-half mile of the park is located on the Clark Fork River that provides terrific fishing and floating opportunities. Boating is carry-in only. You can camp, picnic, or take a one-hour stroll through a thick canopy of cottonwoods on the park's self-guided nature trail.There are 24 campsites with electricity and 2 tipi rentals. The two Sioux-style tipis at Beavertail Hill State Park are 18 feet in diameter and can comfortably sleep six to eight people. The canvas tipis have no furnishings but do have indoor-outdoor carpeting inside, and a picnic table and fire grill located outside. Existing ADA Level: Easy Accessibility.
