What first-time entrants in our kayak fishing tournaments should expect

We've put on a series of kayak fishing tournaments each of the past few years and are awaiting confirmation on our dates for more in 2019.  While these attract some pretty darn good experienced anglers, they are beginner-friendly as well as we strive to expand the local kayak fishing community.

These tournaments, while a competition, are definitely not intimidating.  Even though there are cash and plaque prizes on the table, there are no entry fees so no tension among anglers over money at risk.  It's great way to meet some new fishing buddies, learn tips and suggestions from the successful anglers that day, and enjoy the water with those that share your passion.
