Lowergear Outdoors is full-service backpacking and camping supply retailer located in Tempe Arizona, at 2155 E. University Drive, Tempe, AZ 85288, which is on the SW corner of University and the 101, just east of the Arizona State University campus.



We serve the local Scottsdale / Phoenix / Mesa / Tempe area along with the entire East Valley. We sell camping supplies, sleeping bags, hiking shoes, tents, backpacks and other outdoor goods and equipment including Hobie Kayaks from our retail store, or can ship any gear or supplies you need nationwide.

We are lightweight backpacking gear evangelists and have lots of ultra-light gear on display in our store. Some of the many popular, high-quality brands we carry in our retail store include Sierra Designs, Gregory, Granite Gear, Kelty, ThermaRest, MSR, Big Sky and many others. We also represent several smaller, innovative brands that are well-known for cutting-edge developments in lightweight backpacking.

You will find a huge selection of used camping gear at our store, and we can rent anything you need for any backpacking or camping trip - we can even ship rental camping gear right to your destination! Our store hours are 9am - 6pm Monday thru Friday, and 10am - 4pm on Saturdays. Stop on by then, as we're hopefully going fishin' or campin' on Sunday's!
