Rent a Recreational Sit-in Kayak - Single (Local Pickup Only)
We sell new and used kayaks and supplies, but also rent a few kayaks from our store in Tempe.
This item is a rental of a traditional sit-in kayak from quality models such as the Azul Journey, a 10-footer weighing only 34 pounds but stable enough for larger paddlers - it has a 325 pound carrying capacity. There is plenty of leg room, with adjustable foot pegs for bracing yourself while paddling. Suitable for the lakes in Arizona or a cruise down a slow moving Lower Salt River.
Our rentals include a paddle, a PFD, and two tie-down straps. The length of this kayak is 9' 7" and will fit in the back of many hatchbacks and SUVs, but the back hatch may not shut all the way so you'll want to bring rope, bungees or other straps to keep the hatch closed. If you want to car-top the kayaks, you must have cross bars already installed on your vehicle. A pickup truck or trailer is the easiest way to transport. We will assist in lifting up the kayaks in your vehicle if needed and can provide advice on the best ways to secure it, but you are solely responsible for the tie-down and safe transport to the water and back.
Rental Plans and Rates
Our kayak rental-term options include:
24-Hour rate: Just like it sounds $59
Weekend rate: Pickup after 10am Friday and return Monday morning $139
Two weekdays: Monday thru Thursday rentals $88
Three weekdays: Monday thru Thursday rentals $117
The base price above at the checkout link is the "24-hour" rate, and just below that the drop-down list shows the the other options and the rental rate shown will change. Each rental includes a paddle and a life vest and 2 straps. We also do longer term rentals; just call and we'll handle it on the phone. There are some restrictions on availability, and you'll need a way to transport the kayak(s) and maybe a buddy to help. For all the fine print, see a PDF of our rental rates and policies.
