The information below provides more details on how to use the crampons we rent, but we encourage you to give us a call or find more resources online if more details are needed. For more information on this rental item including rates, check out the main product page at Rent Crampons and Microspikes. There are more how-to pages on nearly all of our most popular rental items; find most at our video and user guide to rentals main page .
The crampons we rent come as a pair, and one size fits nearly all average sizes
This is the business end of the rental crampons, with heavy duty points underneath and in front for firm grip in icy conditions
Adjust the length of the rented crampons on the bottom - push the red tab below to change the length to match your shoe
Affix to your shoe (while wearing it) as shown, with the points out front and the taller supports in the back for the heel. The strap will be the "lacing" to hold to the boot
There is no one way to strap the rented crampons to your shoe, but following is a popular way. First is to run the strap through the slot on the front support
then come back to the other side of the back support . . . .
. . and it will look like this going back to the front
Run thru the front grip and cinch tightly on your boot
There will usually be a lot of unused strapping left over. Tie it off anyway you want, just make sure it can't come free to be tripped on
