SkyScout - Celestron GPS portable star finder

Whether for fun, a youth event, education or for the sheer joy of knowing what you are looking at, SkyScout is the latest in GPS star searching.

When I was a kid, finding a star would involve looking at a book, getting coordinates, then referencing them with the time and date. Once I finally figured out which star was which, I would have to reference an encyclopedia to learn about it.

Not anymore. Now, even a child can quickly find any star in the sky just by looking at it through the Amazing SkyScout. You can even let the SkyScout take you there; just input its name and follow the arrows. The SkyScout takes 2 AA batteries, which we don't provide so make sure to grab a pair or two.

Some features include:
- The ability to identify celestial objects with the click of a button
- Locate over 6,000 stars, planets and constellations and learn interesting facts about each one.
- Read or hear descriptions providing history, mythology and other entertaining information for the most popular objects
- Get Guided Lessons: if the star you identify or locate is part of a constellation like the Big Dipper, you can actually take a guided tour through all the stars in that constellation and even see an onscreen map of the constellation.

The SkyScout comes with 'built-in field guides' to walk beginers through the wonders of space.

These guides include:
* An Introduction to astronomy: a six part audio lesson on the origin and history of astronomy
* A Glossary of Terms: popular astronomy terms including planets, comets, galaxies and more
* Bios on some of the world's greatest astronomers: including Galileo, Einstein and Copernicus
* A list of Man Made Space Objects: text description of some of the coolest objects man has sent into space including the International Space Station, the Hubble Space Telescope and the Space Shuttle
* And a Comet Guide which provides text descriptions about history's most famous comets including Halley's Comet and Comet Hale-Bop
